In 2018 City of York Council set out on an ambitious journey to build the UK's first real-time transport model outside of London in order to better understand traffic flow on the city's roads and provide valuable insights to aid city planning decisions and improve traffic management. We helped them open up previously inaccessible data from traffic cameras, inductive loops and traffic signals, integrated it with commercial traffic modelling software and changed the way they manage traffic in the process.
